Vijay Edwards, aka Indian777, made a huge impact with this song. It’s an anti-rape song titled “We Will Remember Your Name”, and it goes through the story of Nirbhana Damini – who was unfortunately gang raped in 2012.
Indian777 expressed himself very well throughout the single and music video. The story he told was gripping, shocking, and opened my eyes to the situation. He used the power of Hip Hop to express a real issue, a real tragedy. I admire that because this song uses Hip Hop for a good cause. The rapper deserves props for what he’s done in this video, and I’m sure he just inspired hundreds of other artists to bring forth issues like this through their music as well.
