Can we ever get tired of Garba, Raas, and all the colorful cultural aspects of Navratri? Each year many wait for the festival to begin and make the most of every night! Desi Hip-Hop artist iQ puts his tune to the folk dance style and “Chura Liya” is what we get.

“Chura Liya” is off of iQ album The Rebirth which hit the scene in 2009. The album included 15 unique tracks which featured the likes of Bohemia and Ishmeet Narual. The album was release on BestofBoth’s label at a time the Desi Hip-Hop movement was just beginning.

“Chura Liya” manages to capture a number of elements of South Asian culture which Hip-Hop remains the focus. The track samples the song “Yeh Ishq Hai” from the Bollywood film Jab We Met as well incorporates the costumes and Raas dance.
