RKZ has dropped the mixtape 21 to mark his 21st birthday! The mixtape was recorded sporadically between December 2010- May 2011. The project itself was confirmed in January, to which RKZ has been working with a close-knit group of musicians ensuring the project is expressed in the right way. Although the mixtape doesn’t exactly have an apparent theme, RKZ wanted to show his musical journey and changes he’s experiences since the beginning of the recording process. RKZ’s personal favorites on the mixtape are “For a While, “Industry Girl,” “Stranger,” Swim Good,” and “Gonna Be That.” The latter was the demo for RKZ’s next single, but he likes it so much, he included it as a prelude on 21.

RKZ felt 21 needed to be a mix between new and old; therefore, some of the songs may sound familiar.
