Zomba & British Council present: UK B-boy championships- India Showcase 2012

Credited to be one of the most anticipated events in the Hip-Hop calendar globally, the UK B-Boy Championship comes to India with Zomba, India’s first comprehensive online platform dedicated to urban culture, and British Council. The UK B Boy Championships India Showcase will see local talent compete against each other to determine who the best breaker and the top crew in the country is!

In its 17th year, the event travels to India for the first time where in two judges from the international circuit , B-Boy AJ-47 & Spin from the Soul Mavericks Crew will not only judge but will also conduct workshops to share their experiences and knowledge. Two time winners of the Championship, AJ-47 on his India visit adds, “we believe that the Indian Hip Hop scene has witnessed a huge growth and there is some great talent waiting to be nurtured”.

Qualifiers happen in several countries across the world including US, UK, Japan, Korea, Russia, China, Holland & the Scandinavian countries.

Set to be an annual affair, the contest will be for a trophy and is also prize money for the best crews and solo breakers who will also earn a fast track entry into next year’s India finals.

Recently, Zomba had also got hip hop pioneer and B-Boying legend ‘Crazy Legs’ of the Rock Steady Crew to India that gave B Boys / Girls an opportunity to interact and learn from the prodigy himself.
