The world has bananas for Dhanush’s song “Why This Kolaveri Di” and now Seti X is the first artist to put a Hip-Hop twist on the song.

The original track is a leak from the Tamil movie 3 and its Tamil, English lyrics, now being categorized as Tanglish, are being enjoyed by everyone.

Initially when the “Kolaveri Di” started going viral people accredited it to Dhanush being Rajnikanth’s son-in-law. For those unfamiliar with Rajnikanth, he is one of Tamil cinema’s biggest actors and starred in Robot with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

Within record time, “Why This Kolaveri Di” invaded social media space and has gotten over 20 million YouTube views earning it the gold award from YouTube.

Whether it be family blood, the Tanglish lyrics, or the song’s quirk, the world in under the Kolaveri charm.

Seti X, aka Mandeep Sethi, may be the one of the first to bring a Hip-Hop element to the song, but it is not the first remake. Sony Music has released official remixes this week. DJ Suketa provided the House remix while Tigerstyle took charge of the Bhangra remix. U.K. singer Arjun recreated the track providing us with a R&B rendition and now comedian Salman Malik adds a funny twist.
