India’s biggest reggae night comes to Raasta for the first time this December. This spectacular lineup spearheaded by Europe’s rising star of reggae/ dancehall, Ziggi Recado, who hails from the Dutch Caribbean island of St. Eustatius. Accompanying him is Herb-A-Lize It Soundsystem from Holland, one of Europe’s leading reggae selectors and entertainers. In addition we have Praxis (BassFoundation), Shire Roots (Irie Bingo Sound) and New Delhi’s own reggae pioneers, Reggae Rajahs, completing the lineup.

About Ziggi Recado
Growing up on the Caribbean island of St. Eustatius the young Ricardo Blijden was given the nickname Ziggi by his grandparents who raised him. In 1999 Ziggi Recado moved to the Netherlands to study. Through the influence of friends who were aspiring artists, Ziggi began experimenting with music around 2001/2002. This gradually grew into a hobby that he had a natural talent for.
In February of 2006, Ziggi Recado released his debut album “So Much Reasons”. With this album Ziggi gained national notoriety in The Netherlands and managed to capture several awards such as “Best Album”, “Best Artist” and “Best Live Act”.
In 2008 With the cooperation of VP/Greensleeves records Ziggi’s 2nd studio album “In Transit” was released. This album which included the hit songs “Need to tell you this” and “Gonna leave you” received raving reviews throughout Europe and the rest of the world. Ziggi was now drawing attention on a global level. Ziggi & The Renaissance band toured extensively in 2009 playing well over 100 shows and solidifying his reputation as an outstanding live act.
With outstanding performances on major European festivals and venues like Roskilde (Denmark), Lowlands (Netherlands), Festineuch (Switserland), Coleur Café (Belgium), Cabaret Sauvage (France) and Super Bock Fest (Portugal), Ziggi Recado proves once again that he is amongst the top reggae acts.
Now in 2012 with his new EP, Ziggi Recado has taken his music to a next level and shows that he’s here to stay

Herb-A-Lize It was born in east-Holland in the city of Enschede. A typical Herbalize-it set is ram packed with energy, excitement and of course the element of surprise. No two sets would ever be the same because nothing is planned in this Sound. A combination of reggae and dancehall with a few surprises in the mix are the key ingredients in a Herb-A-Lize It cook up. The future looks bright for Herb-A-Lize It, the Sound that would definitely keep on making their own destiny and pushing the envelope of creativity within this addictive Reggae/Dancehall world to higher and higher heights.
About Reggae Rajahs
Coming together for their love of reggae music in early 2009, Reggae Rajahs have dedicated themselves to spreading the sounds of roots reggae, ska, dub, and dancehall across India. They frequently perform at clubs and live venues in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Goa and Bangalore. The trio composed of Diggy Dang, Mr. Herbalist aka General Zoos and DJ MoCity are reggae entertainers and promoters based out of New Delhi. Known for their energetic live performances, the Rajahs released their first single in 2012 titled “Make up your Mind”, and a second single “Ram up the Dance” soon after.
