Akash Ahuja has been creating quite a stir with his latest album, Epiphany, which released worlwide on June 28th. DesiHipHop.com has been getting a ton of questions from Akash’s fans so we thought to ask some of those questions to Akash directly. Aside from having the skill and drive to write songs, we were more curious to find out how he manages everything thats going on. I mean think about it, what were you doing when you were 15? Writing your 50th song? Working on your 4th album? Planning a photoshoot? Developing a marketing launch plan? Managing a team of individuals to execute a guerrilla marketing strategy? Probably not. Thats why we wrote about how the “14 Year Old Desi Kid Will Change The Rap Game” back in 2013.
Rap is a very competitive art and I live for competition! The problem with artist now a days is that once someone hates on them they quit, get discouraged, or doubt them self. When I get hate it makes me want to turn up! If I quit I’ve lost and I hate losing, I’ve put too much into my music to turn back. I know what stand for and there is NOTHING that will ever stop me.
Akash is able to manage both school and a hobby (which can become a career) extremely well. How is he able to do it? Does he have the support of his parents or are they telling him to stop rapping? Find out more in the exclusive interview below, brought to you by DesiHipHop.com. But first, buy the album :-)

1. Ok so you’re 15 and have dropped 4 albums … when did you start rapping?
Answer: I started rapping when I was 9 years old. By the time I was 10 I had already started working on Real And Powerful (my first album). When I was 11 I had all the beats and lyrics ready, now it was time to hit the studio! At the age 12 years my first album was in stores.
2. What’s your inspiration to keep going? Money, Fame, Love of HipHop?
Answer: Rap is a very competitive art and I live for competition!
3. What does HipHop mean to you and how has HipHop affected your life?
Answer: HipHop is a way for me to express my feelings. It is also a way for me to escape stress, anger, and sadness.
4. How do you balance school and music?
Answer: There is a time for everything. When I have school I give it my all and when the summer comes I shift the focus to music. If you know what you need to do nothing is hard. I believe keeping a balance in life is the key to success.
5. Is your family supportive of what you do?
Answer: Yes my family is super supportive of every step I take. They are always honest and helpful. I learn so much from observing the actions of my family members. I love and respect my family.
6. Tell us about Epiphany, what’s it all about?
Answer: Epiphany is my fourth album. It has songs for everyone, from exciting to relaxing.
7. What’s your favorite track on the album and why?
Answer: I can’t answer this question, it’s like asking a parent which is their favorite child. Every track was a lot of fun to make and the best feeling is to take the track at its begging stages when its a simple drum pattern and turn it into a master piece!
8. Tell us a little bit about all the featuring artists!
Answer: Every artist on the album is an expert. All have spent years working on their craft constantly improving. I feel so blessed to be able to work with all the artists on the album.
9. What else do you have lined up for 2014?
Answer: Its too early for me to tell you but make sure to check out kashflowofficial.com for the updates because thats where they go first!
10. Any shoutouts?!
Answer: I’d like to give a huge shout out to DesiHipHop, my family, my supporters, and my team!
