Superproducer and pretty much king of the ring, Dr. Dre, is set to take Beats Electronics a step further with the introduction of Beats Music. The company founded alongside Jimmy Iovine plans to join the online music streaming market with their launch of the new service in January.

Beats Music CEO Ian Rogers made the announcement on his blog, which got picked up by news and hip-hop sites everywhere. “We’re nearly ready for liftoff,” Rogers said. “Thanks to your diligent testing and feedback we are locked and loaded, ready to launch here in the US in January, 2014.”

To plan ahead, you can reserve your username on BeatsMusic.com. Rogers says, “So when Beats Music launches your preferred handle will be ready for you and not competing with everyone else with the same name. Pass this along so your friends aren’t the equivalent of @iancr42.”

Beats Electronics announced plans to offer a music service back in July 2012. Nearly a year and a half later, Beats Music is already growing with the announcement of Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) who would serve as chief creative officer.
