50 Cent and Eminem have been musical partners for over a decade. The Detroit spitter and the Queens rhymer collaborated on cuts like Patiently Waiting, Crack A Bottle, and Love Me. In addition, 50 contributed the track “Drama Never Ends” to the Southpaw soundtrack executive produced by Eminem.
DJ Enuff’s The Heavy Hitters radio show recently spoke with 50. According to 50 Cent, his mentor actually has another full body of work that the public has never heard.
“We did two versions of… the album he did that didn’t work… He had one that he didn’t like the expectations of. He didn’t like the performance of the record,” said 50. “Em’s different. The world’s gotta to stop spinning for a couple of seconds, then go back to normal when his record comes out.”
While 50 was not specific about which project Eminem re-recorded, the Shady Records boss has been publicly self-critical about 2004’s Encore and 2009’s Relapse. On “Talkin’ 2 Myself” off Recovery, Em rapped, “It’s different, them last two albums didn’t count. Encore I was on drugs, Relapse I was flushing them out.”
