Top 5 Canadian Rappers With A Great Impact In The North American Music Scene

Despite everyone paying attention to United States when it comes to Hip Hop, Canada actually has a lot of talent that gets slept on so we decided to make a list with five Canadian rappers that are holding the flag high for their country.

All of them managed to reach international fame while changing the Rap game forever so check’em out and let us know which one is your favorite.

5. K-os

Arriving in the music scene around the early 90`s, Toronto native K-os eventually gained his fame with the 2004 multi platinum album ‘Joyful Rebellion’.

While touring he sometimes gives away tickets asking for donations only so how can you not love him!

4. Maestro

Often called the Godfather of Canadian Rap, Maestro first started rapping in the 80`s while being the first rapper in Canada to have a Top 40 Hit that eventually was certified gold.

3. Kardinal Offishall

Rapper and producer Kardinal Offishall stole the spotlight in 2004 with his album `Not 4 Sale`. The project reached the multi platinum status in Canada and Kardinal received several awards for his efforts.

2. Tory Lanez

Tory Lanez has enough potential to steal Drake’s spot in a blink of an eye. Tory’s latest studio project is enough proof for that statement and in the near future we’ll definitely get more of him. Until then he gets no. 2 in our top. Sorry, Tory!

1. Drake

Drake is not only the best Canadian rapper but probably the most important North American Hip Hop figure at the moment. It would be interesting to see how he manages to reinvent himself after “Views” and how will the Toronto handle his race with Tory Lanez, who already made it clear that he’s after his spot.
