Below we listed ten examples of rappers falling behind after catching an early break so check them out and feel free to name your own in the comment section.

10. Sage The Gemini – Gas Pedal

Back in the day, “Gas Pedal” was bumping in everyone’s speakers but Sage didn’t quite made it through the superstar status. He’s not completely gone either however the song remains his most memorable hit to this day.

9. Kreayshawn — “Gucci Gucci”

“Gucci Gucci” was annoying and interesting at the same time. We didn’t have enough time to make a solid opinion on Kreayshawn because she was gone in one minute. Still, this was her only hit.

8. Trinidad James — “All Gold Everything”

Trinidad James indeed had a gold everything outfit but things started getting worst after his label drop. The rapper is doing okay now as he’s trying to build a solid career but there are no noticeable results aside from his first single.

7. Cali Swag District — “Teach Me How To Dougie”

Everyone knew how to dougie when Cali Swag District released their first single. Too bad this was their only hit. Or maybe not? Do you miss’em?

6. Rich Boy — “Throw Some D’s”

Rich Boy took the game by surprise with “Throw Some D’s”. The partnership with Polow Da Don brought him great benefits but unfortunately this was his only radio smash.

5. Bobby Shmurda – Hot N*gga

The Shmurda dance gained a lot of fans and Bobby Shmurda’s “Hot N*gga” was definitely a game changer but the NYC rapper got himself into some serious trouble with the law and blew his career away.

4. Huey – Pop Lock and Drop It

No one knew who Huey was when he dropped his single “Pop Lock and Drop It” and the song was a huge radio hit but after that no one heard from the rapper again.

3. Mims – This is why I’m Hot

Mims came through with “This is why I’m hot” and it was a serious smash. Everyone jumped on the remix but we didn’t get to hear from the rapper again.

2. Shop Boyz – Party Like A Rockstar

Party like a rock, party like a rock star! No more. We’re not sure Shop Boyz are even rapping anymore.

Sometimes having your first single as a major radio hit is a curse. LMFAO still gains major revenues from “Party Rock Anthem” but they failed to deliver with any song from that point on.
