Jasmine Sandlas got her share of recognition after releasing her single ‘Adhi Raati‘ which was her collaborative effort with Bohemia. She began off with her music career professionally at an early age of 16. Her debut album ‘The Diamond‘ came out in 2008 yet it was her second album ‘Gulabi’ that helped her to achieve her current level of fame.
She has been featured on MTV‘s Spoken Word & Coke Studio. Her name has been associated professionally with artists like Dr. Zeus, Badshah, Honey Singh & others. Her songs ‘Yaar Na Miley’ & ‘Raat Jashan Di’ were used in big budget movies which is an accomplishment for any independent artist.
Jasmine recently came out with a track which she decided to call ‘The Joke‘. This single is nothing but a diss which features subliminal shots targeted towards an artist which she didn’t disclose. Some say it’s Kali Denali Music‘s boss Bohemia while some say it’s targeted towards Yo Yo Honey Singh.
Lines like “I thought you had my back. Yes I was wrong, I guess I’m glad that I only let you be on one of my song” & “still never hit the stage, say your name” are said to be some of the subliminal shots that she took towards Bohemia. Here rebellious nature is well known in the music industry & this single by her concretes that image.
‘The Joke’ is a One Digital Entertainment‘s presentation. The music production for this song was given over to Intense who has done a few ventures for some enormous names in the music business. Jasmine wrote and spat everything by herself. The video for this song is a comic theme based project. Typography & visuals with a cartoon effect is definitely an add on to the song.
We can’t say who’s the target here but her debut in the diss game has definitely cemented her image as a female rap artist. Comment down your opinion on who she has dissed in this track & let your friends comment their opinion too.
