Pioneers of the hip hop scene, DJs Brooklyn Shanti and Tittsworth are in India. Yesterday night Mumbai witnessed these legends work their magic on the deck. From old-school hip-hop music to fusion mix, the set was variant the least to say.
Both the DJs were specially invited to be a part of the ‘Mixtaped! 101’ events that go down at The Den in Bandra. Receiving a warm welcome from the owners of the club, Brooklyn Shanti and Tittsworth very humbly graced the deck. What followed next was mayhem!
Tittsworth kick started with some familiar hip-hop numbers from Snoop Dogg hits to Kendrick Lamar. Soon the DJ spun some of his original mixes, including his tracks with rapper Q-Tip. Brooklyn Shanti followed the lead next, setting a different mood with his music’s vibe.
Joining the two legends were Mumbai-based crew SlumGods and rapper Dee MC. Shanti and Tittsworth were more than happy to get the rappers on board to spit some sick rhymes. Needless to say, the crowd loved to watch these new breeds of next generation emcees doing their thing.
Brooklyn Shanti has rightfully stuck to his Indian roots, creating many tracks in his mother tongue Bengali. A lot of which he played last night! Tittsworth, on the other hand, is easily one of the leading DJs in America with a massive following. These legends are most excited about the growing hip-hop scene in our country and have expressed their will to help shape it from their side.
