The 4th edition of the Radio City Freedom Awards went down at the Hard Rock Cafe, Mumbai yesterday. Hip-Hop once again emerges as a winner this year with the highest number of entries and votes being counted in the genre. The five-hour long and extravagant event was filled with laughter, music and lots of good vibes!
The highlight of the night for us was the announcement of this year’s Best Hip-Hop Artist winner. Nominated artists included Emiway, Divine and Naezy, Prabhdeep, Poetik Justis, Oye Sheraa and Delhi Kid and Posse for SUNNO. Sweeping away the people’s choice award was rapper Emiway with the most number of votes.
Divine and the Gully Gang rejoiced on being the Jury’s choice of winners this year. He accepted the award on behalf of Naezy who couldn’t make it. Divine has been on a roll with his ‘Farak’ tour which goes on till this month end. Joining him for the show were Raja Kumari and JD among others.
Hip-Hop was only beginning post handing out the awards. Last year’s winners Mumbai’s Finest graced the stage with an electrifying closing act of the night. Hip-Hop has been headlining and closing lot of big events since past year and RCFA was no different.
Mumbai’s Finest along with members from Swadesi set the stage on fire. Later rappers Dee MC and Poetik Justis also joined them on stage. B-boys from Beastmode crew wooed the crowd with their sick moves. MF proved it with their energetic performance just why they were winners last year.
