‘Radio City Freedom Awards 4’ Are Around The Corner. See Who Has Been Nominated This Year (WIP)

There have been various awards for nominating the best musicians in the scene, but very few of them could survive so far with Radio City Freedom Awards being one of them. RCFA has been glorifying artists by acknowledging an artist’s hard work and to celebrate the essence of independent music across different genres of music and languages. This ceremony will be held at Hard Rock Café, Worli on March 22, 2017. This award function has been happening from past 3 years and this is the 4th time we’re about the witness this one of a kind award ceremony.

Like every year, this year also has nominations in the ‘Best Hip-Hop/Rap Artist‘ category. These nominations were shortlisted from the entries that were called in from Feb 4, 2017 – Mar 5, 2017.

The first song that has been nominated this year is Divine‘s ‘Mere Gully Mein‘ which featured Naezy. This track came out in 2015 and is considered as one their best works so far. This song has already earned more than 790 votes and is the second most voted track after Emiway‘s ‘Aisa Kuch Shot Nahi Hai‘. This song came out in 2016 and has earned more than 2,000 votes already. The third nomination is ‘Sunno‘ by Yungsta which featured RagaEncore ABJ and HindiRapSoldier. This 2016 release was produced by Usman Ghauri aka BCL Blade or simply Ghauri and has earned more than 340 votes so far.

The fourth nomination for this year is Poetik Justis‘ 2015 release ‘Greatness‘. This track is one of his most loved track and has earned 174 votes as of now. The fifth nomination this year is ‘Night Out‘ by Oye Sheraa and Delhi Kid. It has earned 170 votes and is running on the last but second position on the voting charts. The last nomination on the list is Prabh Deep and Sez‘s 2016 release ‘Kal‘. It is running on the last position with only 144 votes on its side but the voting has not ended yet.

All of these tracks left their mark in the industry when they first came out and still holds a level that a very few can reach. Hip-Hop in India is in its growing stage and ceremonies like these have been playing a very important role by increasing an artist’s reach to get a wider audience. Big Deal won the Judge’s Choice Award while Mumbai’s Finest won the People’s Choice Award last year.

RCFA planned to close the voting on March 15, 2017, but later decided to extend the voting date to March 16, 2017. If you haven’t voted for these tracks/artists yet then you’ve been sleeping on an important thing. Cast your vote to see your favourite artist win a symbol of prestige that they’ll cherish throughout their lives.
