New Delhi Rappers Stopped From Performing At The Streets… AGAIN!

Well, the mood was set up perfectly. On February 2nd, Prabh Deep and MC Calm got shut down by the cops during a street gig at Hauz Khas Village. The incident got a lot of attention and made them want to do the street show even more than before. The Delhi hip-hop community gathered once again and it comprised of Prabh, Seedhe Maut, Youngsta, Sun-J and many other talented artists who wanted to come together and play an audience-friendly street show.

I am not very sure if they took the required permission this time around and did not get a very clear reply when I asked the cats present at the venue. The session started off as expected with everyone performing their tracks and spitting back to back verses. They started off around 11:30 p.m on the 18th of this month and it was fairly smooth as you can see in the following video:

Just as they thought that things will be smooth from here onwards, enters the typical drunk Delhi lads who tried to create some nuisance. Things lead up to a physical confrontation and I guess this was the incident which invited the attention of cops. One thing lead to another and the cops took away the microphones and speakers, they left behind a really agitated New Delhi Hip-Hop mob. You can see in the live session below what the boys were planning to do next

The cops took our mics and our speaker

The boys ended up going to the cops and talking to them and from what I heard, it was one very long and agonising dialogue and ultimately they managed to get the microphones and speakers back. It will be interesting to see when and how will the next street show happen.
