Nas says Hip-Hop is not dead!

10 years ago Nas commented on the state of rap in the form of an entire album, ‘Hip-Hop is dead’ which shook up the listeners but that was back then, 10 years later Nas has a different opinion and summarizes that hip-hop is now in safe hands. He justifies it by saying “because it gave birth to Kendrick, J. Cole, Drake and a few other great, great artists.

Nas spoke in an uncandid manner about his upcoming album in a recent interview and he has worked on this album with a vision which he shared in the interview “I think hip-hop could help rebuild America, once hip-hoppers own hip-hop… we are our own politicians, our own government, we have something to say. We’re warriors. Soldiers.

He was being interview by the Hip-Hop mogul Russell Simmons himself and their conversation gave a very valuable insight into what is going on in his head. Nas has always spoken openly about who he follows and does not shy away from complimenting them, earlier this year, he revealed that he appreciates Future’s work and said that ATL resident is pushing flows forward.

Nas is undoubtedly looked upon by many of our favorite emcees and we cannot wait for December to come sooner. Will Nas be featuring any of the artists that he has complimented in the interview ? It would be a dream come true if Nas collaborates with any of the artist he gives a shout out to.
