Mr. Bolly (Bharat Kapoor) is a up and coming Desi Hip-Hop Artist dedicated in creating innovative new ways of fusing the East meets West theory. Born and raised in Montreal Quebec Canada he has been greatly influenced by the American East Coast Hip Hop movement artsist that have inspired him throughout his development are the likes of Biggie Smalls , Tupac Shakur , and Nas.
In 1999 he was approached by a label called Radisson Records in Montreal Quebec to do a Jazz orientated single called “Peace” a dedication to baby boomers and a tribute to the likes of John Lennon and Jimi Hendrix the single appeared on a B-side Vinyl release and was distributed and published across Canada and supplied to college and university radio stations and shows across North America the feedback was tremendous as it made more sales and requests than the A-side release which was a surprise to the label (Radisson Records) and by his peers on the compilation, Furthermore he joined a group called Bad Breedz and collaborated and released a mix tape in 2001 called ” Cross Borda Connects “.
In 2008 he was approached by a PR agency and they convinced him to start networking in the Desi Market (Bhangra, Bollywood) he was invited to attend the UK AMA asian music awards (London, England). First time attending the event he observed his peers perform and display their talents he started to develop the need and motivation to start working on his solo project again but this time to make his mark and BollyHood brand known as Mr Bolly and creating his own unique world called “BollyHood” saying to himself ” BollyHood is a way of living a state of mind ” not everyone can be BollyHood or be BollyHood until they figured out what it meant .
BollyHood is a fusion of Eastern Western cultures with a fusion of Hip Hop a way of living in the Desi Hip-Hop market a world within a world . He started to develop his own style and creating his own niche. Mr Bolly also known as Bharat Kapoor is the entertainer of a new evolution in the music industry today, and bringing those influences abroad by showing different sides of his music .
Mr Bolly appeals and attracts to all age groups and during the last few years he has made his own signature sound and image which led him to create a professional relationship with his main producer Sorin Pavelesco and also has landed him a managerial partnership in Switzerland with Grace Grall Productions which entail will produce and manufacture his first 4 videos and his BollyHood movie and first full length LP to be titled on a later date .
After all the soul searching and recording his 1st single is slated for release in the 4th quarter of 2011 a collaboration with Uk producer Sunny Dee and Harv . The first single is titled “Johnny Paani” ( whisky and water ) featuring mega artist Ashok Gill ( from PMC fame )
It has been a very long journey for this artist but the truth is the real journey has just started .
