Method Man has a lot of classic tracks under his belt and “What’s Happenin’” is one of them. The track which was featured on Method Man’s third solo studio album “Tical 0: The Prequel” samples the legendary production of the late Indian legend R.D. Burman. The album certified platinum contains productions from Puff Daddy, RZA , No I.D. and many more. The track “What’s Happenin'” was produced by DJ Scratch and features the fast paced vocals of Busta Rhymes. The album was released in 2004 and was followed by an amazing music video. Method Man tries to keep up with the speed of Busta Rhymes and the track itself is a treat for a Hip-Hop head.
The sample which DJ Scratch uses is of the song “Dum Maro Dum” from the 1971 Hindi movie Hare Rama Hare Krishna. The 1971 song was a hit throughout the 70’s and 80’s and was also remixed for the 2011 movie Dum Maro Dum.
The sample appears right from the start of the song till 1:14 and then appears throughout the track and in the original track the sample used appears from the start till 24 seconds and then appears at intervals.
