Ok, so right off the bat, we’re are not massive Bieber fans here at DHH, not gonna sugar coat it in any way – we think he’s a little misguided prick. So when we’d heard that he’d done an acoustic cover of the late great 2Pac’s ‘Thugz Mansion’ for BBC’s Live Lounge – our pens were at the ready to let him know what we thought.

Then we actually listened to it, and you know what, it’s actually not that bad, in all honesty he pretty much nails it.

During an interview in 2015, Bieber mentioned that his top 5 rappers where 2Pac, Biggie, Eminem, Nas & Mase, so it was only natural for him to choose one of his hip hop idols to perform a cover from.

Justin performed a stripped-down cover of the classic track with the assistance of a guitar player, much to the surprise of the show’s host. “Something I thought I’d never say on national radio — Justin Bieber covering Tupac’s ‘Thugz Mansion’ in the Live Lounge,” she said.

There was one hiccup though, Bieber “Cold Water” — his recent collaboration with bass heavyweights Major Lazer — he seemed to forget a few of the song’s lyrics. “I don’t usually get nervous but tonight I was thrown off and I was. Sorry about that. Really wanted to be my best. Hope u all had fun,” he tweeted afterward.

Here’s the video  – BBC Live Lounge keep taking it down and private so you may have to come back a little later if you’re unable to view it.
