Update – Jay-Z is coming to India!

Update – 10/09/16

Yesterday (9-Spet-16) was a crazy day on the social media front, the story of Global Citizen Festival India, Chris Martin & a whole host of celebs seemed to have morphed and mutated in to many forms until Vijay Nair, the Founder of OML, (company making the Global Citizen Festival in India happen) set the record straight via his twitter feed.

He started with a cheeky dig tabloid journalism, then on to comment on the “selling my kidneys for a ticket” theme through memes, posts and tweets, referring to the amount of social media chatter on the suggested ticket prices that we’re being mentioned.

The official announcement came from Global Citizen’s  Twitter page with the OMl founder retweeted

Ending with confirmation that there will be tickets available for free and how you can earn them.

There was a feeling that the release of information, initially by the Mumbai tabloid Mid-Day, spoilt what we’re sure the would have been great to watch unfold when carried out as planned.

What was confirmed those what that a large majority of the tickets will be available for free, just by getting involved with the Global Citizen movement and completing actions set out on the festival’s website, which should be out very soon. A great hit with the fans and silenced many of the critics very quickly.

News is still to be confirmed on who will actually be performing or even attending the event, but we’re obviously still hoping the part about the Jigga man on the line up is for real.

Watch this space, we’re sure there’s gonna be plenty more hype to come!
