2016 is going to be the year when Marshall Mathers aka Eminem will make his return to making music. His latest track with Skylar Grey, ‘Kill For You‘ gives a small taste of what is to be expected in November end or December beginning.
Slim Shady has not dropped a complete body of work in the past 3 years. Fans have been eagerly waiting for his comeback after the successful release of his compilation albums. His last album was in July last year, for the movie ‘Southpaw‘ which was released via Shady records and featured multiple artists from his roster.
For the past three years, Eminem has been mentoring new acts and guiding them to put their tracks out, he is currently oriented towards getting individual albums for all the artists under his wing. There have been several rumors about his album and Eminem himself has dropped suffice hints that a game changing album is in the works.
Eminem has gone ahead to mention the names of a few featured artists on his album and the list includes names like Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, Jay-Z and Dr Dre. The album would be having 12 new songs and will be available before 2017.
Snoop Dogg was recently interviewed by Rolling Stone and he just added fuel to speculations that he and Dr Dre are currently working with Mathers on a new album. He said that it was his dream to team up with Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and Dr Dre and it would be an epic project. However, the rapper went on to say that they have yet to talk about the said collaboration.
“A Snoop-Dre album would be amazing, but a tour even more, because we have legendary music the world has yet to see us perform globally,” Snoop Dogg said. “I’m pretty sure he wants to do it. He just wants the team in place. Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre – that’s the dream team for him.”
His last album was ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2‘ was released on November 5th 2013, three years ago and it won him a Grammy Award. People are having similar expectations with the new album and hopefully it would be something worth the wait.
