Exclusive Interview – “Reloaded” Unleashed With Sun J And The Khatarnaak Hip-Hop Collective

,

DesiHipHop.com has exclusively released Sun J’s album “Reloaded”, making a buzz in the Desi rap scene. It’s been quite an experience working with ‘The Khatarnaak Hip-Hop Collective’. All the crew members are sincere, hardworking, authentic and different from each other. The crew consists of rappers, beatboxers, b-boys, graffiti artists and is more of a movement and force than a collective.

If you think that it is just Sun-J working on the album then you would not be entirely right. His music is reviewed by his peers who tell him bluntly when he is not on point and Sun J also accepts feedback constructively. Just like in every crew, there are differences but they have learned to rise above them and in fact have come back stronger as well. All the rappers bring something different to the table and serve up one hell of a meal when the time comes!

“It’s impossible that we have someone like Raftaar with us and we don’t do some rapping. We all cyphered and he spat a few bars too!” – Sun J

I caught up with Crost, Tapas and Sun-J from the crew just to find out what they are up to and how the future looks for them. This is how our conversation went –

What is the Khatarnaak Hip-Hop collective up to?

CROST – Currently the Khatarnaak Hip-Hop Collective is working on their first E.P. and we’re are also working on our respective solo material. We will be dropping a few singles before the collective EP to hype it up. Also, the crew is working on a few videos for breaking, popping and beat-boxing

Tell me a little about Sun J reloaded?

SUN J – The E.P. “Reloaded” is a mix of a few songs already released and a few new tracks as well. All the music in the E.P. is done by me. “Be Aware” is the latest music video from the album that I think everyone should definitely check out.

How does it feel to have someone like Raftaar surprising y’all at your video shoot?

TAPAS – It is great to have an inspiring artist like Raftaar come through and motivate us. He was a big support and also spoke to us about the music industry. He was generous enough to let us use his brand new BMW for a few shots in the “Be Aware” music video.

How was your interaction with him? We heard the Khatarnaak collective cyphered with him too?

SUN J – It’s impossible that we have someone like Raftaar with us and we don’t do some rapping. We all cyphered and he spat a few bars too!

What do you guys feel about the Desi Hip-Hop scene growing in India? Thoughts about the scene in Delhi?

TAPAS –  Desi hip-hop scene has grown enormously in the past few years. A shout out to DesiHipHop.com for giving us a platform and contributing in the growth. It’s awesome to be a part of the Delhi underground scene, we are looking forward to grow along with the scene. The underground rap scene in Delhi is at its tip and still growing and has a lot to offer with artists like Prabh Deep, 2-ShadeZ and many more killing it.

Any message for fans and followers?

SUN J – I just wanna say that we have a lot of new stuff to come out so make sure that everyone sticks around. Everyone who wants to follow their dreams just believe in yourselves and never quit!!
