East India Comedy is a group of stand-up comics based out of Mumbai. Known for their yearly instalment of ‘EIC Vs Bollywood’, their latest one featured some really strong jabs and jokes aimed at Badshah. In a hilarious bit Sahil Shah, Atul Khatri and Angad Singh Ranyal take digs on their picks for worst songs by Bollywood.
Sahil Shah’s pick for the worst song was ‘Kala Chasma’ from the movie ‘Baar Baar Dekho’. The refix was by Badshah. Criticising the lyrics for his verse Sahil Shah had this amazing joke.
“Badshah’s rap was so senseless, this was the rap
‘Sadko pe chale Jab ladkon ke dilon mein Tu aag laga de baby fire.’
I’m like AAG-FIRE lets see where he goes with this and then he goes
‘Nakli si nakhre tu karein Jab dekhe humein jhooti liar!
I’m like go fu*k yourself , AAG-Fire, Jhooti-Liar , Whose written these lyrics Badshah or Google Translate ?” – Sahil Shah.
Angad Singh Ranyal’s pick for the worst song also included Badshah in it. From the Salman Khan movie ‘Sultan’ the song ‘Baby Ko Bass Pasand Hai’ was his choice. Angad takes digs at Salman’s Khan dance steps and Badshah’s lyricism.
“Badshah’s rap again, it goes like
‘Yo chalta phirta fashion show Baby bajli ki nangi wire se’
I’m like how are you coming up with these comparisons. Then I researched and found out that Badshah is an engineer so it makes sense he gets turned on every time he sees a naked wire he’s like AAH COPPER” – Angad Singh Ranyal
Atul Khatri, being the oldest out of the bunch made it clear how he likes basic lyrics and not complicated lines. Taking shots at a non-Hip-Hop track ‘Bulleya’ from the movie ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. He then goes on to take digs at the complex lines in the song.
This bit is very funny and is stand up comedy at its best.
The description of the video was this: “In our final #EICVSBollywood video we talk about the worst songs of 2016 and why Bollywood really needs to stop hiring Baadshah.”
