We, at DesiHipHop.com, are happy to announce our new weekly edition which is entirely directed towards the underground. This piece features some of the most insane underground releases which, unfortunately, didn’t reach out to a mass audience.

Like every other week, we try to bring some of the hottest releases from the week for hip-hop listeners. These are hand-picked releases which are not arranged in any rankings and are equally important for the culture. Without any further ado, let’s see some of the dopest releases of this week from the underground scene.

1. RfR RAP – A Rap Song for Rally for Rivers | Xstacy Sash

With the help of this track, Rally for Rivers hopes to unfold the dire state of our rivers. We can no longer sit back and do nothing while our water sources dry up. Let “The Future Of India” work towards reviving the rivers of our country. Xstacy Sash mentioned,“Just by showing our support we can create a fruitful legacy that we can pass on to our future generations. Let each one of us do our part and use this song to reach all the youth around the country and help them understand just how critical the situation is. Awareness is the first step towards a solution.”

Xstacy Sash himself composed and performed the whole track. Vijayan Muthu aka VJN Studios designed the concept and beautifully executed it. On the other hand, Vijayrama and  Kodeeswaran from VJN Studios did the cinematography and editing of the track. OI Skool India did the engineering work for the track.

2. Kalyug | Risky

Risky is a hip-hop artist from Sriganganagar, Rajasthan. He started rapping at age of 17. He is associated with a hip-hop crew called “RJ13 Rap Crew”.  As a matter of fact, his latest release is “Kalyug” which brings everyone closer to reality. All of us are living in the era of Kalyug, and from his track, he has shown the nature of people that how dirty, filthy and dangerous they can be.

This song comes from his own experiences such as watching people kill a girl child, increase in negativity and hate, loss of love and sense of a community. He has penned down all his feelings in the song and wanted to convey a message that it’s just the beginning of Kalyug and more destruction is about to come. On the other hand, Dr. Kush did the music for the track. Sunil Jangid did the engineering of the track and Surender Sidhu did the video for the same.

Also, he is working on a few more tracks and his songs are getting support from popular labels as well.  He made a commercial song which is coming soon with “Whitehill Production” and there’s another hip-hop track of his releasing under “Bunty Bains Production.”

3. KYU? | PROOF

The track justifies the togetherness of body and soul, pain and peace, love and needs. Prashant Verma who goes by the moniker of PROOF has managed to convey the emotion of his soul and that it truly belongs to one heart. He is seeking for peace and peace is in her arms. It has duality of sorrow and hope. Sorrows are the reason of his stand and hope is the reason of his life. Last but not the least, he finds his hope in her.

4. Desis in Paris | Roy

The current state of the country and the pride to be an Indian meets a Su Real rendition of Kanye and Jay-Z’s colossal hit Paris. The instrumental of this track is produced by Su Real. Roy who hails from Delhi recently performed at multiple venues in Mumbai city.

5. Lagi Mein Reh | Spitfire

This track is all about being yourself. Being in your own world and not reacting to negative things that happen in day to day life. As a matter of fact, the instrumental of “Lagi Reh” is produced by Syndrome. He puts out his emotions on the Diwali festival stating, “Jalao Diye Raatien Badi Kaali Hai, Tyohar Unke Na Thaali Jinki Khali Hai”. He also gives shoutouts to Piyush Mishra by taking his two lines “Kuch Kaam Kiya Kuch Ishq Kia’ Se Hai” as he thinks it was a masterpiece.
