Desi Hip-Hop’s Hot 5 Of The Week (W/59)

, ,

It’s a new week and that means a new Hot 5!

As you know, there are tonnes of Desi Hip Hop and we try our best to watch out and listen to every one of those. Below are the hot 5 Tracks we’re feeling this week at DHH HQ.

Meri Jeet‘ by Bohemia was announced last week by T-Series which was followed by the announcement of him joining hands with T-Series for his future releases. This one is lyrically smart as lines like “Jo ladey, wo agge bade/ Jeda maut ton dare o hi pehla mare” are definitely going to grab your attention. The hook on this track is catchy and probably the only thing that you’ll understand initially as the flow used by him on both of the verses is different from what Bohemia is known for. Bohemia has written, performed, composed and produced this track on his own like the old days.

Nasty‘ by Sumeet Suvarna aka Nasty Ninja from Mumbai’s Finest is one of the hottest drops this week. This beat is produced by Shah Rule who is known for inducing flames in his instrumentals. The video was shot by MoveMentals in the streets of New York and in the most famous part of NY, Times Square. ‘Nasty’ is the introduction of Nasty Ninja for the world of hip-hop. This beat has old-school vibes in it with a new-school blend. ‘Nasty’ transits into a proper boom-bap track towards the end to give it a classic feel. WorthIt has powered this track like Mumbai’s Finest previous tracks.

Muhfaad is known for using words that are used on a day to day basis. ‘Sab Mazze Mein’ is all about his experience in the music scene and with his life in general. He talks about the things that were holding him down and how he has been experiencing some positive changes in his career lately. The way he rode the beat is worth checking out as the placement of rhymes at different places gave birth to an interesting flow. It’s his second track after ‘Aji Mera Ghanta‘ that is released under Desi Music Factory.

Illegal Zindagi‘ came out this week and is an insane collaboration between Chen-K and New Jersey rapper Mike Ramos aka Lyrik. This one is an explicit version and is all about how they are living a life that’s not praised by the society. No, it’s not a gangster track at all. Lyrik has spat a great verse and the rhyme scheme is worth noticing. Chen-K went second and moulded rhymes with his style of storytelling. Chen-K has himself produced this instrumental and has also done the graphical edits for the video and promotions.

Rahul Marwaha aka Brutas decided to remix Drake‘s famous track ‘Started From The Bottom‘ and blended it in his own style. It’s a free-verse sort of track which is not based on a particular topic but is good for the ears. Janmeet Singh aka Infinity has re-arranged the beat and mixed-mastered the track to deliver this piece. Abhinav Anand has shot the video on a green screen and edited it later with some insane backdrop visuals.
