Rapper Murs from Los Angeles is all set to make the new Guinness World Record by doing a 24+hour marathon of rapping. Many have claimed to have bars for days but Murs here is out to do it for real.
Murs is doing a live streaming of his marathon, which starts 11 A.M PST Thursday that is 11:30 P.M. Thursday for us and the event is titled as #BarsForDays.
Something that started as an idea from Boost Mobile’s Unlimited Music Streaming Program through the radio, it took a deeper turn when it became more about a tribute to the genre. In an interview with the Rolling Stones Murs said, “And then setting this record became more about me paying tribute to the music I grew up on. And using this platform to maybe even expose someone younger or unaware to the classics.”
For the 24+ hour marathon he has a mix of original and Hip-Hop classics, which also include two hours of periodic breaks. It is also the finale event for Boost Mobile’s Where You At? Series in L.A.
Murs gone on 24-hour video game marathons before but his love for rap and music is much more than that.
“I expect it to be fun above all. I’m sure it’ll be challenging. But the being awake part I’ve done. So I’m good there. I love rapping just a little more than video games. And combining my own compositions with songs I love by other artists should keep me amped up enough. If not, there’s coffee and coffee.”
